Char Dham Yatra is a highly revered pilgrimage in India that encompasses four holy sites: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. It is believed that undertaking this pilgrimage washes away one's sins and brings spiritual enlightenment. The journey usually starts from the town of Haridwar, which is considered the gateway to the Char Dham Yatra.
The typical Char Dham Yatra Package that includes Kedarnath and Badrinath or Yamunotri - Gangotri, along with Haridwar, lasts for 10 days and 9 nights. Here's a rough itinerary:Arrive in Haridwar and check into your hotel. Take part in the evening Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, a famous ghat on the banks of the River Ganges.
Early morning, leave for Barkot, which serves as the base for both Yamunotri and Gangotri.
Start your journey towards Yamunotri, the source of the River Yamuna. After the darshan (worship), return to Barkot.
Travel to Gangotri, the origin of the River Ganges. After the darshan, proceed to Uttarkashi.
Leave for Guptkashi, a town on the way to Kedarnath.
Reach Gaurikund (the base of Kedarnath) and start the trek or take a helicopter to Kedarnath. Visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.
Trek back to Gaurikund or take a helicopter to Guptkashi. Continue your journey to Rudraprayag, a confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers.
Travel to Badrinath, one of the holiest shrines dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
Visit the Badrinath Temple and other attractions in the town. Proceed to Rudraprayag via Joshimath.
Travel back to Haridwar for departure.
